Customer reference for building, converting services as emailed to pickapro by Roy and Janice from Rathmines, Dublin 6 on 28-Nov-2011
When was the work done?
September to November 2011, with some residual jobs done in December and January, after we were in occupation.
What was involved?
Internal reconstruction, mostly in the interests of thermal insulation (including re-roofing,attic and wall insulation etc;). Also expansion of the kitchen area, with an
extension out the back, and provision of a downstairs WC.
How did you choose Rainsford Builders?
Eddie was recommended by our architect who had experience of working with Eddie.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Eddie Rainsford?
The main issue was energy economy, also kitchen access (hatch etc) and an extension for the new downstairs toilet.
Did Eddie introduce new ideas?
Yes, several, mostly to do with details of the finish, choice of door-knobs etc.
How did the project run?
Excellent workmanship; some problems arose from the plumbing, due it seems to faulty components at joins, and this suggests the need for a detailed plan of the pipe layout, with access-points to key junction locations made explicit, perhaps as an
addendum to the architects plan.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Rainsford Builders?
Eddie did a good job at the right price with many minor extras as goodwill add-ons.
What's your favourite part now?
Contact with the kitchen via the hatch
Would you recommend Rainsford Builders to others?
Undoubtedly, with the proviso of the need to provide explicitly for plumbing quality control and access for maintenance.
